In Madhya Pradesh, frontline COVID warriors got vaccine shots, but almost a month later 1,37, 454 employees it was found out that they were all vaccinated, with data revealing using the same mobile number.
NDTV reported that while there was great initial rejoicing of the high rate of vaccinations, then it was discovered a month later that the 1,37, 454 employees had the same mobile number used. This included 83,000 health workers. It is calculated that one in five people have missed out on being vaccinated simply because they could not be informed.
NDTV called on a few numbers to verify if the numbers were genuine and found out lakhs vaccinated with the same mobile number.
Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary Health Minister of MP stated to NDTV that the registration is correct and will check for any mistakes in entries. He indicated that it was due to clerical error of the respected departments
PC Sharma, former law minister of Madhya Pradesh mentioned while talking to NDTV that this was due to carelessness and not seriousness from the government’s side to fight COVID. He questioned why the common people are not being vaccinated now and why are they waiting for March.
NDTV accessed confidential reports from the health department to decipher how this error could have been made.
It is evident that all the people are not even aware of when to get the second vaccine dose and it is mentioned that the Madhya Pradesh government at present has postponed the date of the second corona vaccine dose.
The reason for this huge “scandalous error” is not ascertained and is yet to be determined.
