Srinagar, Kashmir: In the Baghat area of Srinagar, a group of unidentified gunmen attacked a police party on Friday morning. Videos of the shootout show the incident.

While they shot two policemen, they were immediately rushed to the Bone and Joint Hospital for treatment. They were transferred to SMHS Hospital. Both succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Medical Superintendent SMHS Hospital Dr. Nazir Chowdhary told news agency GNS that police officer, Sohail Ahmad had suffered serious injuries and died at the hospital. The other police officer also succumbed to his injuries, identified as Mohammad Yusuf,
The Kashmir Zone Police reports that the area has been cordoned off.
A search operation has been launched by the security forces in the Baghat area of Srinagar after the suspected militants opened fire at the police party.
In the meantime, a young boy has been arrested by police in the Baghat area of Sgr after the suspected terrorists killed two Jammu and Kashmir police cops outside the Baghat police station.

The gunmen have yet to be identified. No one has claimed responsibility for this attack as yet.
