India and China have held eight rounds of talks at the military commanders’ level and efforts will be made to find a solution to the current situation on principles of mutual security
New Delhi: During a nearly ten-month standoff in East Ladakh with China, Army Chief General Naravane clearly stated Friday that India is in favor of resolving the issues through dialogue and diplomatic efforts, but no one should test our patience. Nobody should commit this mistake.
In his traditional speech at the Parade Ground here on Friday on the occasion of “Army Day”, General Nirvana said, ‘The last year has been a big challenge for the Army.”
“All are aware of the ongoing tension with China on the northern border. The army has given a brilliant answer to the plot of unilateral change on the country’s borders. I would like to assure the country that the martyrdom of the brave people of Gulwan will not go in vain”, he added.
Testing our patience!
‘The Indian Army will not let any threat to the sovereignty and security of the country. We are committed to resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomatic efforts, but no one should make the mistake of testing our patience’, said General Narvane.
He said that the two countries have held eight rounds of talks at the level of military commanders and will continue to work to resolve the current situation on the principle of continuous and mutual security.
Referring to the morale of the troops stationed on the LoC in eastern Ladakh, the General said, “Despite extreme cold and difficult conditions, the determination of our troops is higher than the top of the mountain which they are closely monitoring.”
