Kabul: In an attempt to attack security checkpoints in the central province of Uruzgan in Afghanistan, security forces killed 16 militants and wounded 11.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Taliban militants attacked security posts located in the Dehrah Wood and Jijab districts of Uruzgan province. The army has also recovered large quantities of arms and ammunition from the militants.
According to the ministry, Anas, a senior Taliban commander, was killed along with four other terrorists during an attack on security forces in southern Mayavanand district on Monday.
