Mewalal Chaudhary is facing the charge of irregularities allegedly committed by him in the appointment of Assistant Professors and Junior Scientists. The resignation apparently came after RJD leader Tajeswi Yadav posted a series of tweets on Chaudhary’s corruption background
Patna: Mewalal Chaudhary resigned from his post of Bihar Education Minister on corruption charges, apparently after hues and cries were raised against his appointment as Minister. Mr. Chaudhary was administered the oath of the Minister in the Nitish cabinet on November 16.
The resignation apparently came after RJD leader Tajeswi Yadav posted a series of tweets on Chaudhary’s corruption background. He said in his tweet, ‘What education do Bihari people get by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar appointing Mewalaal Choudhary an Education Minister who is accused of charges under sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of the IPC in many cases of murder and corruption?”

Tejaswi Prasad Yadav has asked the Chief Minister in another tweet, “Respected Mr. Nitish Kumar, should Tejashwi be given a public explanation in the case of Mr. Mewalal? If you want, in relation to Mr. Mewalal, I can not only give you a clear explanation but also detailed discussions with Gandhiji’s seven principles. Looking forward to your reply.”
https://t.co/TDVGoywFSM

Mr. Chaudhary is facing the charge of irregularities allegedly committed by him in the appointment of Assistant Professors and Junior Scientists during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour.
“An accusation is proven only when a chargesheet is filed or a court gives an order and none of the two is there to prove the allegations against me,” Mr. Chaudhary had said earlier in the day.
He was allotted the portfolio of Education department on November 17. Mr. Chaudhary, resigned soon after he has taken charge of his department. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called Mr. Chaudhary after he has taken the charge of his allotted department and asked him to resign following which he quit the post. His resignation letter was sent to Governor Fagu Chauhan by Chief Minister Mr. Kumar for acceptance.
