Ludhiana Gears Up for Historic Municipal Council Polls
Ludhiana’s district administration has declared it is fully prepared for the municipal council elections scheduled for December 21, 2023. With significant steps taken to ensure a peaceful and transparent electoral process, the administration is focusing on the Municipal Corporation of Ludhiana (MCL) alongside various municipal councils and one nagar panchayat. Security and Arrangements for the Polling Day
In the lead-up to polling day, the district administration has put in place a robust security strategy with 11,054 officials from civil and police sectors assigned to oversee the elections. Jitendra Jorwal has confirmed that a total of 420 polling stations have been designated as very sensitive, ensuring they will receive enhanced security coverage from local police forces.

This group comprises 32,429 male voters, 30,007 female voters, and two individuals identifying as third gender. Across these councils, a total of 80 polling stations will facilitate the voting process, with specific stations classified as sensitive and very sensitive.
