IndiaTirupati prasadam controversy: Health Minister JP Nadda promises action following full report

Union Health Minister JP Nadda announced on Friday that he has spoken to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and requested a detailed report regarding the alleged adulteration of Tirupati prasadam.

During a press conference highlighting the Modi government’s achievements in its first 100 days, JP Nadda addressed concerns over the possible adulteration of Tirupati laddus. He assured that the Centre will thoroughly review the issue once the comprehensive report is submitted, and appropriate actions will be taken based on food safety regulations.

“I will consult with state regulators for a thorough investigation into the matter. Once we have the report, we will take suitable action in line with food safety standards,” said Nadda.

The controversy began when Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat had been used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus under the previous government, sparking political backlash. The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) accused Naidu of making baseless allegations for political advantage, while the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) presented a lab report to back Naidu’s claims.

The Health Ministry is closely monitoring the situation and will act swiftly once the findings are available.
