EH Group Joins H2MARINE Project to Develop Next Generation Maritime Fuel Cells

IndiaEH Group Joins H2MARINE Project to Develop Next Generation Maritime Fuel Cells

EH Group proudly announces its membership in H2MARINE, a collaborative initiative supported by the EU’s Clean Hydrogen Partnership and SERI (Switzerland). This venture is dedicated to advancing hydrogen technology innovation, particularly in the realm of next-generation PEM fuel cell stacks tailored for marine applications.

The project encompasses a comprehensive cycle of design, assembly, and testing of fuel cell (FC) stacks engineered to produce 250-300 kW of electrical power, addressing the unique challenges posed by maritime operations. Leveraging its proprietary FC technology, EH Group will supply high-power density stacks, refined and optimized specifically for marine use.

With a total budget exceeding 9 million EUR and a duration spanning 42 months, this project marks a significant stride toward sustainable energy solutions within the maritime sector. The consortium comprises 13 partners across Europe, including prominent research and development institutes such as VTT, EPFL, ZSW, University of Freiburg, and industry leaders like Beyond Gravity, CluBE, CLEOS, DANA REINZ-DICHTUNGS-GmbH, Greenerity GmbH, PowerCell Sweden AB, and Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems.

Mardit Matian, Founder of EH Group, expresses enthusiasm about their fuel cell technology’s recognition and its role in maritime applications, stating, “Our high power density fuel cell technology has been recognized in its use for maritime applications, and we are delighted to contribute to its further development in this project.”

Christopher Brandon, Co-Founder, emphasizes EH Group’s commitment to accelerating fuel cells’ role in addressing the decarbonization challenges faced by the marine sector, affirming, “The marine sector is facing increasing pressure to decarbonize, and EH Group is committed with its H2MARINE collaborators to accelerate FCs role in solving that challenge.”
