Arunachal Pradesh has achieved 100% coverage in the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission, making it the first state in the northeast and the tenth in the country to reach this milestone.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced the accomplishment, highlighting the state’s dedication and commitment to meeting its goals. The total project cost amounted to ₹ 4,420.92 crore, with the Centre contributing ₹ 3,965.41 crore and the state providing ₹ 455.51 crore.
Mr. Khandu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his guidance and support in making Arunachal Pradesh self-reliant. The Jal Jeevan Mission, launched in 2019, aims to provide safe drinking water through individual household tap connections to all rural households in India by 2024.
