Covert Operation Claims Lives of 3 Militants: Israeli Forces Disguised as Women Raid Hospital

WorldCovert Operation Claims Lives of 3 Militants: Israeli Forces Disguised as Women Raid Hospital

Israeli forces, disguised as civilian women and medical workers, conducted a raid on Tuesday in the occupied West Bank, targeting the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin. The operation resulted in the killing of three Palestinian militants. The Palestinian health ministry condemned the raid, asserting that Israeli forces opened fire inside the hospital wards. The ministry called on the international community to pressure Israel to cease such operations in hospitals. A hospital spokesperson indicated that there was no exchange of fire, suggesting it was a targeted killing.

The Israeli military claimed that the militants were using the hospital as a hideout but did not provide evidence to support this allegation. According to the military, one of the targeted individuals had facilitated the transfer of weapons and ammunition for a planned attack, supposedly inspired by the Hamas assault on southern Israel on October 7, which triggered the conflict in Gaza.

Social media circulated footage purported to be security camera video from the hospital, showing about a dozen undercover Israeli forces dressed as women with Muslim headscarves or as hospital staff in scrubs or white doctor’s coats. The forces, most of them armed, were seen patting down a man against a wall.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during an event in the occupied West Bank, denied reports of a possible cease-fire deal to end the war in Gaza on Tuesday. He reiterated his commitment to continue the fight until “absolute victory” over Hamas, rejecting Hamas’ main demands, including the withdrawal of the Israeli military from the Gaza Strip and the release of thousands of prisoners.

The ongoing conflict began when Hamas-led militants stormed into Israel, resulting in casualties and abductions. Israel responded with a comprehensive offensive in Gaza, leading to significant casualties and infrastructure damage. The situation has created a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with warnings from the UN about the potential exacerbation of the crisis due to funding freezes to the main aid provider following Israeli claims of its involvement in the October 7 assault.
