On Wednesday, the men’s doubles badminton team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty showcased their prowess by defeating M.S. Fikri and B. Maulana of Indonesia with a scoreline of 21-18, 21-19.

Indian shuttlers continue to make strides in badminton. Unfortunately, on the same day, Prannoy H.S faced defeat in the round of 32 against Denmark’s A. Antonsen, with a score of 14-21, 11-21.

In the Malaysia Open at Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday, Srikanth Kidambi advanced to the second round by overcoming Indonesian Jonatan Christie, ranked fifth globally, with a score of 12-21, 21-18, 21-16. Srikanth is set to compete against former World number one, Hong Kong’s NG Ka Long Angus, in the pre-quarterfinals on Thursday.

The women’s doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto secured a spot in the second round by defeating the American duo Francesca Corbett and Allison Lee 21-13, 21-16. Their next challenge is against Japan’s W. Nagahara and M. Matsumoto at 7:30 am (IST).

Additionally, Lakhsya Sen is scheduled to compete against H. Weng in the first round later today.
