PoliticsPutin says Russia-China ties at 'unprecedented historical levels'

Relations between Russia and China have reached an unprecedented historical level, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with China’s Deputy Premier Zhang Guoqing on September 12.

Putin met Zhang in Vladivostok where Russia is holding a major economic forum this week.

Zhang also lauded a partnership which has “maintained a healthy and stable development momentum”, while noting that bilateral trade between the two countries will exceed their initial expectations.

Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yury Ushakov said in July that Putin planned to visit China in October at the time of its third “Belt and Road” forum, responding to an invitation issued by Xi during a high-profile state visit to Russia in March.

Putin said through the efforts of our governments, business circles, relations between Russia and China are being improved, and this area of economic cooperation is apparently very high.It is all derived from achievements in political field. But the end results are more than good, they are excellent.
