Lalu Prasad, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), urged opposition party leaders on Sunday to set aside their differences.
Lalu Prasad also encouraged the opposition party leaders to concentrate on devising a strategy to remove the BJP from power in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at an event organized by his elder son, Bihar Forest Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu Prasad emphasized the urgency of unity among opposition parties to form a plan for ousting the BJP government from the central leadership in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He expressed concern that the BJP posed a significant threat to the country’s constitution and democratic framework.
In his characteristic manner, Lalu Prasad humorously remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was globetrotting to search for the ideal spot to enjoy burgers and pizzas after being defeated in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He confidently added that the BJP was destined to lose its power at the Centre.
“We have already held meetings in Patna and Bangalore, and we will convene again in Mumbai to outline our strategy for removing the BJP from power,” stated the RJD chief, asserting that they would not permit the BJP to undermine constitutional institutions in the country under any circumstances. He stressed that despite the BJP’s attempts to erase Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s thoughts and vision, they would ensure its survival.
