IndiaEnraged mob thrashes IndiGo pilot & husband for torturing minor domestic help

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in Delhi’s Dwarka, a mob took matters into their own hands and attacked the pilot and her husband.

The couple was allegedly involved in torturing a minor domestic help. The incident prompted Indigo, the airline the pilot worked for, to release a statement in response to a video capturing the incident.

According to ANI’s report, an enraged mob in Delhi’s Dwarka unleashed violence upon a woman pilot and her husband, accusing them of employing a 10-year-old girl as domestic help and subjecting her to torture. A video shared by the news agency captures the chaotic scene, with the mob loudly protesting outside a building where the couple resided. Despite the couple’s attempts to explain and calm the agitated crowd, certain individuals proceeded to forcefully drag the woman out and physically assault her. The husband intervened to protect his wife, but he too became a target of the mob’s aggression.

In response to the circulating video allegedly involving one of its employees, IndiGo Airlines has released an official statement. The airline acknowledged its awareness of the video being shared on social media and assured that they are actively investigating the matter. Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, the employee in question has been derostered from their official duties.

The 10-year-old girl, who was employed as domestic help for the past two months by a couple in Delhi’s Dwarka, has undergone a medical examination following a distressing incident. The couple allegedly subjected her to physical abuse. The matter came to light when a relative of the girl reported the mistreatment on Wednesday, leading to a gathering of concerned individuals at the couple’s residence.

The authorities at Dwarka Police Station were informed about the situation around 9 am, prompting them to take immediate action. The girl’s medical examination revealed injuries and burn marks, indicating the severity of the alleged abuse. Consequently, a case has been registered against the couple under sections 323, 324, and 342 of the Indian Penal Code, along with the Child Labour Act (75 JJ Act).

The Delhi Police swiftly detained both accused individuals in response to the grave allegations. Dwarka DCP M Harsha Vardhan informed ANI about the actions taken in the case, stating that the husband and wife have been arrested, and appropriate counseling for the child has been provided.
