Addressing the rally at Jyotiraditya Scindia’s ‘citadel,’ Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that it is the Prime Minister’s duty to maintain political civility.
The Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a Jan Aakrosh Maharally held in Gwalior. She accused him of practicing politics of arrogance, ignoring internal disturbances, and soaring prices while favoring a select few tycoon friends by handing over the nation’s assets to them.
She criticized his response to the Opposition parties’ meeting at Bengaluru, where he labeled all opposition leaders and parties as thieves. Priyanka Gandhi highlighted the ongoing issues in Manipur, expressing concern over the lack of action and statements from the Prime Minister for a prolonged period.
Turning her attention to the soaring price rise, she stressed that the economic burden is affecting the common people drastically. The rising cost of essential items like tomatoes, housing repairs, children’s education, and medicine is putting immense pressure on families. She questioned the vast disparity between the earnings of certain tycoons and the struggles of the common cultivators.
Priyanka Gandhi also discussed the issues faced by the Armed Forces, pointing out that many youngsters are leaving the training phase due to uncertainties about future employment. She expressed doubts about the effectiveness of the Agniveer Yojana and its impact on the agrarian sector.
The Congress leader spoke about corruption and mismanagement in Madhya Pradesh, accusing the current government of failing to fulfill their promises. She assured the audience that if Congress returns to power, they would prioritize the welfare of the people by implementing various schemes.
She reminded the audience of the significance of Sabhyata (civility), Saralta (ease), Saadgi (simplicity), and Sachhai (truth) in politics, stressing that the real issues are often overshadowed by allegations and counter-allegations. Priyanka Gandhi assured the implementation of various welfare measures if Congress is elected back to power.
The rally witnessed other Congress leaders criticizing Jyotiraditya Scindia’s move to join the BJP, accusing the current government of corruption and mismanagement in Madhya Pradesh. Prior to the rally, Priyanka Gandhi paid tribute to Rani Lakshmibai at her samadhi.
The rally addressed concerns about various issues and sought to emphasize the Congress’s commitment to addressing the needs of the people in Madhya Pradesh, which is heading for elections with a significant number of seats in the Gwalior and Chambal divisions.
