The Tribal people of Lahaul-Spiti in Shimla are currently facing abnormal conditions due to unprecedented snowfall, avalanches, and torrential rain.
The region has recently experienced heavy snowfall, leading to disrupted normalcy. Additionally, the area witnessed two tremors that occurred last night, causing the snowscapes to tremble.
Amitabh Chaudhary shared: “A multi-storey building collapsed in the Kachighati area of Shimla today evening after heavy rains. The building was evacuated by the local administration.”

The Meteorological Department reported that the district experienced two significant tremors, lasting only a few seconds each. The magnitude of the tremors was measured between 3.2 and 3.1, and they occurred at 21:30 hrs and 22:07 hrs on Wednesday. The epicenter of the tremors was located at latitude 32.72 and longitude 76.60, with a depth of 10 km. Fortunately, no loss of property or life has been reported as a result of these tremors.
The situation in the region is currently being monitored, and authorities are working to ensure the safety and well-being of the affected population.
