Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, had a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu.

Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa meets with President Droupadi Murmuat at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, India. During the meeting, President Murmu welcomed Dr. Al-Issa on his first official visit to India and expressed India’s appreciation for the role and objectives of the Muslim World League in promoting tolerant values, moderation of consciousness, and interfaith dialogue.

President Murmu highlighted India’s diversity as a multicultural, multilingual, multiethnic, and multireligious society, and mentioned that India is home to more than 200 million Muslims, making it the country with the second-largest Muslim population in the world.

The President also emphasized the importance of the relationship between India and Saudi Arabia, stating that both countries have a longstanding history of amicable relations rooted in trade and people-to-people ties. She mentioned that both nations condemn terrorism in all its forms and advocate for “zero tolerance” against terrorism. They agreed that a holistic approach is needed to counter terrorism and violent extremism, which can be achieved by engaging with moderate schools of thought.

President Murmu commended Dr. Al-Issa for his stand against extremism, terrorism, and violence. She expressed confidence that his visit to India would open up more avenues for collaboration between India and the Muslim World League.
