During a press conference held at the party headquarters, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, highlighted India’s remarkable digital transformation over the past 9 years. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, technology has played a pivotal role in bringing about significant reforms in the government’s functioning.
Chandrasekhar proudly proclaimed that India, once the largest “unconnected” country in 2014, has now become the world’s largest nation in terms of digital transactions. Even the remotest parts of the country are experiencing the transformative power of technology, empowering its citizens.
In contrast, Chandrasekhar referred to the Congress regime between 2004 and 2014 as a “Corruption shop,” citing notable scandals such as the 2G scam and the Antriksh-Devas scam. He lamented the adverse effects of these scandals, such as the departure of investors from India and the complete destruction of BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) during that decade.
Discussing the advancements in 5G technology, the minister proudly announced the connection of 700 districts through this cutting-edge technology. He emphasized that India is witnessing the fastest 5G rollout globally and highlighted the significant contribution of indigenous 5G components in achieving this feat.
Chandrasekhar also acknowledged the government’s commitment to ensuring safety and security in cyberspace as digital connectivity continues to thrive in the country. India is considered a trusted global partner in manufacturing, with the emergence of world-class factories, substantial investments, and the creation of numerous job opportunities in the sector.
