A team of ten members from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) commenced their investigation on Tuesday into the train accident that occurred at Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district. The tragic incident resulted in the loss of 275 lives and left over 1,000 individuals injured.
Following a recommendation from the Railway Board, the CBI inquiry was initiated to examine the harrowing accident involving two superfast trains and a Goods train.
Accompanied by Central Forensic members, the CBI team arrived at the Bahanaga station. They visited the control room and signal room at Bahanaga Bazar Railway station and engaged in discussions with railway officials present at the station.
The CBI team declined to disclose any specifics about the investigation process to the awaiting journalists.
On Monday, Commissioner of Railway Safety (Southeastern Circle), Sailesh Pathak, conducted a mandatory inquiry into the train tragedy that occurred in Odisha. Pathak arrived at Bahanaga Bazar station, inspected the accident site, and proceeded to visit the control room and signal room, where he held discussions with the officials.
