On Tuesday, a bus on its way to Indore lost control, crashed through a railing, and plunged off a bridge over the now-dry Borad river near Dongargaon in the Un Police Station limits of this district.
The accident resulted in the deaths of 15 passengers, including six women and three children, and 24 others were injured. Preliminary reports initially stated that the toll was 16. According to Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Rakesh Mohan Shukla, the injured individuals were taken to the district infirmary, but the driver has not been located, and it is suspected that he fell asleep while driving.
Before law enforcement authorities arrived, villagers were able to upright the overturned bus and rescue several victims. Citizens helped rush the injured to the hospital using their own vehicles. Collector Shivraj Singh Verma, Superintendent of Police DS Yadav, and other officials have arrived at the scene.
