On Sunday, the last day of campaigning for the May 10 Karnataka assembly election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a two-hour roadshow in Bengaluru amidst the chanting of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Bajrang Bali.”

The eight-kilometer long cavalcade passed through 13 assembly seats in the eastern and central parts of the city, and Modi paid floral tributes to the statue of Kempegowda located at Thippasandra before starting the roadshow.

Throughout the event, Modi’s supporters showered him with flower petals, and fans of all age groups lined the streets for over two hours to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. Many of his supporters wore masks with “Bajrang Bali” chants, sang and danced to drumbeats, and chanted “Jai Sri Ram” and “Jai Modi.”

Some of them even dressed up in Lord Hanuman’s attire and carried maces. BJP leaders claimed that this was the second longest roadshow by any Indian politician ever, with the first such roadshow being held by Modi in Ahmedabad city ahead of the 2022 Gujarat assembly elections.
