Pratim Bhosale sorrowfully shares on Twitter in a tweet, “Two days back, my uncle was murdered brutally in broad daylight in Pune.
She went on to say, “The reason for the murder was that he asked a gang of men to not do drugs near his house.
While nothing is going to bring back my uncle and stop the suffering of my family, all we can do is wait for justice. I hope the Pune City Police help us find justice.
If you’re reading this, please stay safe and think twice before approaching random strangers. It’s not worth it.
He used to always tell me how proud he was of me. He used to jokingly tell my dad that I was his daughter and not my dad’s.
He helped a lot of people who were suffering from issues. Financial, family or medical.
Dear Kaka, I am sorry.
The world did not deserve you❤️”

As reported by the news, in Pune, a senior citizen was murdered in Keshav Nagar, brutally stabbed by a gang for stopping them from doing drugs and drinking in his cow shed and the horrific incident occurred at 3.30 pm on Sunday.
As per the police the victim has been identified as Ravindra Gaikwad (age 59, resident of Keshavnagar, Mundhwa). Gaikwad was a resident of the Srikrupa Society in Keshav Nagar and owned a cow shed. On Sunday some people were allegedly ingesting alcohol and drugs in the Gaikwad’s cow shed. When Ravindra Gaikwad objected to their actions, the enraged men assaulted him with a koyta seriously injuring him. Mr. Gaikwad was hospitalised in a private hospital where he breathed his last while in treatment.
Rising Daylight Murders in India are Alarming
The rising daylight murders in India have become a cause for worry in recent years. Violent murders now often occur in the daytime in public places, with people busy videoing the horrors instead of calling for help.
There is a heightened sense of insecurity among citizens which has highlighted the need for better law and order. As we see Pratim Bhosale requesting people to think twice before approaching random strangers. While the men were invading her uncle’s cowshed, even he seemed to have no right to tell them to move out and was murdered for it.
Experts say that one of the major reasons for the rise in daylight murders is the prevalence of firearms in the country. However, most murders are done through lynching or stabbing, or strangling.
However, even despite India’s stringent laws, firearms are easily available in the black market, which has led to an increase in the number of gun-related crimes.
Another contributing factor is the scarcity of effective policing. The police force in India is severely understaffed and under-equipped, which makes it difficult for them to effectively battle crime. There is also a lack of training and resources for investigating officers, which means that many cases remain unsolved.
Social and economic factors also play a role in the rising number of daylight murders. Many of the perpetrators are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and resort to crime as a means of survival. There is also a sense of impunity among some criminals who feel that they can get away with their crimes due to a lack of accountability.
To address this issue, it is crucial to establish a multi-pronged technique. Effective policing would require the government to invest much more money and training in the police department. The police force needs to be sufficiently equipped and qualified to deal with crime, and there should be greater accountability for investigating officers.
The government needs to ensure that there are stricter laws governing the sale and possession of firearms and that there is a crackdown on the black market for guns.
There is also a need to address the underlying social and economic issues that contribute to crime. This could include measures such as job creation, education, and poverty alleviation programs.
In conclusion, the increasing number of daylight murders in India is very concerning requiring urgent attention. Addressing the root causes of crime, improving law and order, the presence of police, setting up a strong police force with higher investments from the government, and ensuring greater accountability for perpetrators are key steps that need to be taken. India should not become a place where Pratim requests everyone to never approach strangers and in her expression of fear advises, “Please stay safe and think twice before approaching random strangers. It’s not worth it.”
Instead, India should be a place where everyone feels safe and greater steps should be made to do that.
