The educated youth of J&K are feeling frustrated and feeling distraught due to growing unemployment and anti-youth policies.
Former Minister and JKNC Zonal President, Babu Ram Paul addressing a Youth meeting organized by Dr. Vikas Sharma, Zonal Secretary & Co-ordinator of Jammu District (Urban), JKNC said, “The youth are getting overaged; & special employment package should be extended to them by the central government.”
He added that the business community of J&K has also suffered adversely and it has pinned high hopes on J&K National Conference for mitigation of their sufferings.
Babu Rampaul said that BJP was avoiding announcing polls in J&K as it knows the fate. Ever since it took over the reign into its hand, the majority of youth and the general public are totally feeling disgruntled and slipped into a state of desperation due to the anti-youth policies of the present government.
He said that growing unemployment is a burning issue as the present regime has miserably failed to create job opportunities for the youth.
He also said that the present dispensation has failed on all fronts and the common man is the worst sufferer. He said that inflation is all-time high, and prices of essential commodities including medicines are skyrocketing.
“The prices of petroleum products including cooking gas have also increased manifold”, he added. Babu Rampaul while making a comparative study of the regime of JKNC, especially Sher-E-Kashmir Jb. Sheikh Mohd Abdullah, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Jb. Omar Abdullah in which a lot of measures have been taken for the welfare of the people of J&K.
Ultimately, He asked the party workers of J&K to remain united and work with zeal and dedication for ensuring the welfare of the common masses of J&K and to strengthen the JKNC party at the grass root levels.
Babu Rampaul also emphasized that the party cadre to gear up for the ensuing assembly polls that could take place at any time this year.
Dr. Vikas Sharma, in his address, said that we stand committed to secularism and social equality. He also said the National Conference has a legacy of serving the poor and weaker sections of society which was started by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
He maintained that the fight for the restoration of statehood to J&K shall be the foremost agenda of the party. People of J&K have suffered a lot during the past three years since the abolition of statehood.
He said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Others who spoke on the occasion were Adv. Nirmal Singh, Harmoh-inder Singh, Bahadur Lal, Arun Paul Singh, Dr Sushil, Baldev Raj Nargotra, MooL Raj, Sudesh Dalotra, Ashok Tyagi, Jahagir Ahmed, Mu-rsrat Malik, and others.
With the promise of jobs and many other benefits vowed in 2019, such as the vacant posts in Jammu and Kashmir would be filled with state companies, as well as private companies, encouraged to create jobs for the local youths in the state, growing unemployment is the main concern in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, the police did a lathi charge on job aspirants and detained dozens to crush protests against the government’s decision to engage a blacklisted company to conduct recruitment exams for government jobs.
