Nagpur –  A Forgotten City By Means of Tourism

EconomyNagpur -  A Forgotten City By Means of Tourism

Nagpur city situated in the center of India with a zero-mile marker known as the heart of India due to its unique location is often forgotten.

Nagpur city is situated in the center of India with a zero-mile marker known as the heart of India due to its location.  Nagpur is known throughout the country as “Orange City” for being a major trade center of oranges that are cultivated in the region.  It is known as the “Tiger Capital of India ” as it connects many Tiger Reserves in India to the world.

Nagpur is developing well in information technology, businesses, transport, and other fields but has unfortunately forgotten to develop tourism. Tourism is good not only to generate revenue for a region but connects people of different places and cultures, teaching people many new things enabling people to communicate better, and building up businesses which are good for our country.

Some of the most exotic spots that can be boosted for tourism have been neglected.   It is also graded as the cleanest city and the second greenest city in India famous for its delicious juicy oranges.

A wonderful spot is Gorewada Lake swarming with fish and has a large scope for the fishery business.  Beautiful sea shells are often found in the lake.

A dam named Gorewada Dam which is 2,350 feet long is made around the lake.  The lake is surrounded by a forest converted into a safari or zoo named after the famous late politician Balasaheb Thackeray called Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park.  This is a birdwatcher’s paradise with thrilling safari rides where one can spot leopards, deer, peacocks, rabbits, stunning bright birds, and many more unique species running through the dense flora and fauna.

As the Tiger Capital of India,” it links many Tiger Reserves in India to the world.  One can take an exciting Gorewada jungle to drive through the rolling hills and crags, meadows, lakes, and streams to spot the tigers.

I once wished for tourism to be boosted in Bandipora, and it happened, and I hope the same happens for Nagpur.  This city can be specifically built up for a tourism network which will generate great revenues, jobs, and flourishing businesses and this will be beneficial for all.

Authorities should grab this opportunity and work to develop Nagpur city to promote it as the next famous tourist location with a special focus on Gorewada as it has amazing potential.
