Bulldozing churches, homes in Assam leave Christians crying, saying they’ll die but not move

StatesBulldozing churches, homes in Assam leave Christians crying, saying they'll die but not move

Assamese Christians are crying saying they will die but will not move, as the BJP tears down Christian churches and homes.

There were 103 Boro families whose homes were affected and there were three churches belonging to Roman Catholic, NELC, Lutheran, and Baptist churches bulldozed down in the area of Golgotha and Calvary Villages under Santipur Police in the Chirang District, Assam on January 30, 2023.

The BJP government even destroyed their homes and crops. With millions of illegal constructions around the country, it falls under the eye of the storm when the BJP government picks out the minorities to destroy their homes and religious places.

They have left families without shelter during the freezing-cold winter

Mary Denniz from an NGO shares indignantly, “On the world stage they claim “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” – The world is our family The truth and reality is far from it in this new version of India”

In Narayanpurin Chhattisgarh, 100s of Christians are beaten up, excommunicated, and driven out of their villages.  These Christians have lost their livelihood, homes, and security. No action has been taken against the aggressors. There is a specific attack on pastors, but if people are proclaiming forced conversions, all people who convert do it out of their free will.

In Uttar Pradesh, Christians are upset about constant communal attacks on them saying they are being falsely implicated.

Finally out of fury and frustration, Christians in Uttar Pradesh came to the streets due to constant false allegations, attacks, and arrests made against them.  This is the State where Christians have been heavily attacked over the years

When News Bucket questions troubled Christians on the streets, one Christian said to the Press, “Can you just give money to anyone and make them convert to any other religion?

The man said, “Ji, every Sunday, we have prayers and worship and when that happens, a mob of people descend on the Sunday service and falsely accuse us of converting Hindus.

When the news reporter asked another man in the crowd, “These people say that you helped the people during the corona pandemic and gave them food in order to convert them to Christianity, what do you have to say about it?”

A man replied smiling, “Yes, we did help everyone of all religions during corona, and if we are accused that we had an agenda for doing this, we will not stop helping people.  If the authorities put us in jail for this, we still will never stop assisting anyone.  We believe in the same philosophy as Tulsidas. We help out of the love in our hearts, but they who do not understand always think that we have an agenda, but we have no agenda.  We look at people as humans, not at their religion at all.”

He added, “These are complete lies about us having an agenda, but it is completely true that we helped people during the COVID pandemic and there was nothing wrong about it. But the gossip about us converting Hindus during that time are absolute lies.”

When the news reporter asked him if he felt this was propaganda against the Christians, he nodded his head and said, “Yes, it is propaganda, there is a plan against Christians, Muslims, and Communists to suppress them or throw them out of India, but it could never materialize, so now they are trying something new.

He said emphatically, “While we talk about love which is our focus, they stoke up hate speeches.  We love our nation and its people and have no thoughts of dividing anyone and no one can separate us from loving the nation and its people.”

Attacks on Christians in India are not new, however, this is the first time in India that the attacks are reaching metropolitans across the states, especially after the No Conversion Bill was passed.
