In a tragic incident caught on CCTV in Rajkot, due to civic negligence on the streets of Rajkot in Gujarat, a biker lost his life.
The biker fell into a deep pit dug up by Rajkot Municipal Corporation. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Harsh Davada. The tragic incident took place when the biker tried to overtake another vehicle but fell into the open pit. The incident was caught on CCTV which shows the victim falling into the pit.
The incident took place at Ring Road near Indira Circle where overbridge construction is being carried out and a pit was dug up for that purpose. The victim Harsh died on the spot after falling into the pit.
According to police, Harsh suffered injuries on his head after he hit iron bars in the pit. Meanwhile, Rajkot Municipal Corporation has ordered a probe as to why the pit was open and not barricaded. Rajkot Municipal Corporation Commissioner has assured action if anyone was found guilty of negligence.
Police have sent the body for postmortem.
