Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai has been ranked 73rd in the World Best Cities prepared by Resonance Consultancy. Mumbai, which is popularly known as ‘mayanagri’ is hailed as the city of dreams and is also the financial capital of India.

Home to almost 17 million Mumbaikers, the city has one of the most extensive local train networks in the world and tons of tourist attractions such as Gateway of India, Taj Hotel, Juhu beach, Hanging Gardens, and the entertainment capital of India with Bollywood’s tinsel town, Bandra–Worli Sea Link, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Victoria Terminus)South Bombay skyline and many more.

List of Top Cities in the World 2023

The exquisite English city of London, which is home to over 11 million people, has been named the number one city in the world in the year 2023, according to the latest survey of world cities. The World’s Best Cities Report prepared by Resonance Consultancy ranks the world’s best cities with populations of more than a million.

“The World’s Best Cities rankings benchmark the overall performance of more than 250 cities around the world based on a wide variety of measures in order to identify the top 100 places to live, visit and invest,” Resonance President and CEO Chris Fair said in a statement.

How is the report prepared?

The World’s Best Cities rankings are prepared by analyzing the performance of cities on various parameters such as employment, investment, tourism, and visitors among others.

The survey uses a combination of statistical performance and qualitative evaluations by locals and visitors in 24 areas grouped into six core categories.

According to Bloomberg, Resonance Consultancy’s Best Cities ranking “is the most comprehensive study of its kind as it identifies cities that are most desirable for locals, visitors, and businesspeople alike, rather than simply looking at livability or tourism appeal.”
