Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said Adani & Ambani “bought” some of the biggest politicians in the country but couldn’t buy her brother Rahul Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “Adani and Ambani have bought some of the biggest politicians in the country, most of the PSUs, and the media but could not buy my brother, nor will they be ever able to.” Priyanka said this as she welcomed the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ghaziabad as general secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh.

A viral video of Rahul hugging his sister, Priyanka is streaming on the Internet!

Priyanka said she was proud of all the Bharat Yatris who had walked from Kanyakumari to Delhi and had now entered Uttar Pradesh.

She said, “Look at my elder brother, the object of the greatest pride. The government has employed its entire might and spent thousands of crores to spoil his image, but he never abandoned the path of truth. Agencies targeted him but he wasn’t scared. He is a true soldier.”

Priyanka said: “Some people ask me, ‘Is your brother not feeling cold, he is walking in a T-shirt? Give him a jacket’. Somebody said, ‘Aren’t you worried about his security, the Yatra is now going towards Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir?’ My reply is, “He wears the armour of truth, God will protect him.”

However, the Congress and the Gandhi family are clearly concerned about Rahul’s security, as there are tremendous crowds pushing around him, while he has to jostle through at times, threatening safety protocols, specifically given that Indira Gandhi was killed by her own security guards and Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated during a widespread interaction in Tamil Nadu.

The massive crowds and Rahul’s own wish to meet the swelling crowds have resulted in breaches of the security protocol at several places. On Tuesday, too, he was found having to wade his way through the masses without a protective ring several times. The Congress party has formally presented their concerns about his security with Union home minister Amit Shah.

Any apprehensions about the scale of the response to the Yatra in Uttar Pradesh, where the Congress has been a marginal player for decades, evaporated as soon as the walkathon entered the heartland state. A huge crowd was waiting at the Loni border, as were all the senior Congress leaders and office-bearers from the state.

Some party workers put the size of the crowd at over 1 lakh along with the massive crowds of people lined both sides of the roads for stretches of kilometers at a stretch, boosting local Congress leaders to declare that Uttar Pradesh would overshadow the massive response the Yatra had received both in South India, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

All three major Opposition leaders in the state — Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, and Jayant Chaudhary praised the goal of the Yatra and extended their good wishes. National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah joined the walk.

A.S. Dulat, former Intelligence Bureau special director, RAW ex-secretary, and adviser to the Vajpayee government on Kashmir affairs, too participated, author Ram Puniyan, Sushant Singh, Priyanka Chaturvedi from Shiv Sena, standup comedian Kunal Kamra who also took a swipe at those trying to be neutral, and many others joined the yatra.

Bharat Jodo Yatra is an Ongoing Mass Movement in India

Bharat Jodo Yatra (lit: Unite India March) is an ongoing mass movement started by the Indian National Congress. Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, is directing the mass movement by mobilizing the party cadre and general public into walking by foot from Kanyakumari, the southern tip of the peninsula, to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, spanning 3,570 kilometers over 150 days.

Some of the powerful responses to Rahul Gandhi on the ongoing Yatra

A movement unlike any other in this century, it has crossed over a million hashtags both on Facebook and Twitter cementing the nation in an extraordinary manner and stirring top opposition leaders, celebrities, and the mass crowds to join. Bharat Jodo Yatra has drawn in even Rahul Gandhi’s critics to join the march! There are waves of excitement and celebration during the march and the energy is upbeat and positive, with strong interactions with the people.
