Family doctor says autopsy report didn’t find alcohol in victim’s stomach

IndiaFamily doctor says autopsy report didn't find alcohol in victim's stomach

While Anjali’s friend said she was drunk, the family doctor said the autopsy report did not find any trace of alcohol in her stomach.

“According to the autopsy report, there was food inside the stomach. If she would have been drunk, the report would have mentioned the presence of a chemical. But the report says only food has been detected (inside the stomach),” Bhupesh told reporters, adding that this was not a normal murder” speaking on Anjali’s horrific case

“A murder is considered sadistic when a victim is brutally tortured before death. As per the autopsy report, she suffered 40 injuries,” the doctor said.

Anjali’s Mother Wants Investigation, Calling It A “Well-Thought-Out Conspiracy”

The mother of Anjali disputed allegations made by deceased Anjali’s ‘friend’ Nidhi and claimed that she “might be involved” in this “well thought-out conspiracy”.

Rekha, the deceased’s mother, said that she does not know Nidhi who claimed to be Anjali’s friend on Tuesday. “She was in a drunken state but insisted on driving the two-wheeler. After being hit by the car, she came under the car and got dragged with it.

I was scared and ran away and returned home, didn’t tell anything to anyone. It is the fault of the girl who was driving in an inebriated state. I insisted to her so much that don’t drive, I am conscious, let me drive. She didn’t believe me and believed herself,” Nidhi had claimed before the media yesterday.

Refuting her claims, Anjali’s mother said that she would not believe her remarks as her daughter “never used to drink”.

Speaking to ANI, the mother questioned how Nidhi left the spot of the accident if she was Anjali’s friend and termed the incident a “well thought-out conspiracy”.

“Nidhi is saying all the wrong things. If Nidhi was my daughter’s friend, then how did she leave her alone? This is a well-thought-out conspiracy, Nidhi might be involved in this. There should be an investigation,” she said.

“I don’t know Nidhi, I have never seen her. Anjali never used to drink, she never came home in an inebriated state, and we don’t believe whatever claims Nidhi made,” Rekha added.  The mother demanded punishment for the accused who have been arrested.
“The 5 men should be punished,” she said.

Meanwhile, Anjali’s maternal uncle, Prem, felt Nidhi was involved in the case and sought a CBI investigation.

Anjali’s uncle stated, “Nidhi’s claims are categorically denied by me. Anjali’s abdomen contained no traces of alcohol.” Anjali’s friend Nidhi previously stated that she was terrified when she witnessed what happened. Nidhi previously stated, “Anjali was inebriated. Our vehicle had also avoided a collision with a truck prior to the accident, so I told her to let me drive. She flatly refused.”

The victim’s friend had earlier said the five men accused of dragging the woman under their car killed her deliberately as they kept driving despite knowing she was stuck under the vehicle.

Anjali’s friend, Nidhi was traced by the police after they examined the CCTV footage.  Nidhi said they had gone to meet some friends at a hotel on New Year’s eve and alleged that despite being ‘drunk’, the victim wanted to ride the scooter after the party.

Why Nidhi Probably Could Probably be Not “Planted”

However, if Nidhi was “planted” by anyone, she would not have testified against the five men asserting that they had the screams of the victim under the wheel but still ignored it and continued to drive.  Nidhi also said that they were not playing music and kept driving despite her cries, so this clearly reveals that they would have heard Anjali’s screams.  If Nidhi was covering for them, she would have said.

Suspicion draws to Nidhi due to the fact that she claimed Anjali was drunk when the autopsy showed no alcohol in the blood.

Nidhi also deserted her and proved to be one of the worst friends, if she ever was a friend.  It was unfortunate that on national television, she put her friend down.

Nidhi out of fear ran away, never realizing the consequences of what she did and how the truth would be blared out from all platforms sealing her in a bad light.

The Main Accused is Alleged to be Co-Convener from the BJP Unit

Details are emerging that the main accused is a Co-Convener from the BJP Unit which is why the Delhi police are accused of playing down the crime.

Contrary to other eyewitness accounts, the victim’s friend claimed that no music was playing in the car that hit them and said that the driver was aware that Anjali was being dragged under the wheels.

Meanwhile, Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal cautioned against victim shaming and demanded a probe into the friend’s claims.

Anjali was killed in the early hours of the New Year after her scooter was hit by a car, which dragged her for 12 kilometers. Her body was found in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala. Five men who were allegedly in the car have been booked for culpable homicide among other sections. All five accused were sent to a three-day police custody on Monday.

The victim’s friend Nidhi said after the impact, Anjali got stuck under the car and was dragged by the vehicle, with its occupants not once trying to slow down or save the woman. Anjali’s friend said she did not inform anyone about the accident as she was scared and feared that she would be blamed for it.

Pointing out some differences in the Sultanpuri accident case, the Delhi Police on Wednesday said the CCTV footage outside the hotel where victim Anjali and her friend had stayed, was 15 minutes slow from the actual time.

Police also said she was drunk. However, the autopsy shows no traces of alcohol.

Nidhi was brought in for questioning on Tuesday, and she claimed that the 5 accused men who were driving the Maruti Suzuki Baleno car, were aware that Anjali was stuck to the axle and yet kept driving.

Anjali was cremated on Tuesday evening after her remains were handed over to the family.

Meanwhile, one of the suspects’ kin also demanded justice for Anjali. Mukesh, brother of accused Krishan, said none of the family members has stepped out since his arrest. Krishan’s family called for the accused to be punished as per provisions of the law, a Hindustan Times report said.

Meanwhile, Anjali’s postmortem report revealed that her brain matter was missing, skull cavity was found open, her spine was fractured, and there were a total of 40 injuries. She was dragged for several kilometers entangled under a car following her two-wheeler meeting with an accident in the early hours of January 1 in Delhi.

A medical board of doctors at the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) conducted her autopsy and informed the Delhi Police of the numerous injuries to Anjali’s body.

The Suspects’ Version

The woman, identified as Anjali Singh, was returning from work around 2 am when the dreadful calamity took place. After falling from her scooty, the girl tangled in the undercarriage of the car and was dragged for nearly 13 km before the occupants apparently became aware of it, the FIR read.

According to the police, the Maruti Baleno car was borrowed twice. Its owner, Lokesh, had loaned it to Ashutosh, who loaned it to his friends Amit and Deepak Khanna. “Two of the four accused – Deepak Khanna and Amit Khanna – borrowed the car from one of their friends at around 7 pm on December 31, 2022, and parked the car back at his house at around 5 am on January 1, 2023,” the FIR said.

Deepak Khanna and Amit Khanna later revealed to their friend that they had hit a girl on her scooty and fled from the accident spot and reached Kanjhawala, They also admitted that they were drunk at the time of the incident, according to the FIR.

The FIR also stated that Deepak Khanna was driving the car while accused Manoj Mittal was sitting next to the driver’s seat, the other two accused Mithun Kumar and Amit Khanna were in the back seat of the car. After fleeing from the accident spot, they stopped the car near village Jaunti on Kanjhawala Road, where they found the victim’s body stuck under the car, the FIR read further.

Meanwhile, forensic experts earlier on Monday conducted the post-mortem of the girl whose body was dragged for nearly 13 kilometers under a car after it hit her scooter in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri. The autopsy was conducted under the supervision of a medical board at the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC).

Earlier in the day, police confirmed that a medical board had been constituted to conduct the post-mortem. Based on the report, fresh charges could be added against the five accused arrested in connection with the case, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda said at a press conference.

The accused have been booked on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, causing death by negligence, and criminal conspiracy. Police had earlier said the victim’s body was sent to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Mangolpuri for post-mortem. Later, police sources said the body had been shifted to MAMC.

Numerous Versions to Anjali’s Murder

In a new CCTV footage, a Delhi Police PCR van can be seen on the road scarcely minutes after the car hit and dragged Anjali for 12 kilometers from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala on New Year’s.t’s not clear as to what time the two vehicles are seen in the video but it does show that the cops were just behind the car used in the horrific crime post midnight on December 31st.

According to police, the victim’s leg got enmeshed in one of the wheels of the car and she was dragged for about 12 kilometers. A video purportedly showing the woman’s body without clothes and broken legs emerged on social media. However, the veracity of the video could not be verified. The footage also led to claims that the victim was raped and killed, however, police said it was an accident.  The autopsy report shows no signs of sexual assault nor alcohol in the victim’s stomach, only food.

Enraged citizens protest in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri on Monday with locals accusing the police of trying to cover up a rape case by treating it as an accident.

What Did the Authorities Do

The Delhi Commission for Women has issued a notice to the city police in connection with the incident. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the incident the “rarest of rare crimes” and demanded the strictest punishment for those behind it, while Lt Governor V K Saxena said his head hung in shame over the “inhuman” crime.

The LG also directed the police to ensure that the accused are treated as per law, irrespective of their socio-economic standing or political affiliations, sources said. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also directed the Special Delhi Police Commissioner to submit a detailed report about the horrific incident.
