As the sun of 2022 sinks down to orange, I am sharing some reflections

As the sun of 2022 sinks down to orange, and all are wishing each for the New Year 2023, I am sharing some reflections for 2022 and 2023 in a poem.

The year 2022 was a mixture of joy, peace, losses, and sorrow for many
Some days were bright, sunny, and other times dark, gloomy, and stormy
We saw seasons of communalism, violence, and hate with bulldozing
Midnight fires burning, tempers fuming, and blood oozing
Then out of the darkness sprung a Work of Love knitting hearts
Bharat Jodo Yatra, a wondrous walk to keep the nation from falling apart
Millions poured out their hearts, shared their dreams, and cried along
Played flutes, celebrities joined and sang their glorious songs
While millions are still jobless, many starving and hungry on city streets
Men used their might to blast wars and fights, stirring bloody drumbeats
While COVID-19 still hangs around like a ghost in grasping shadows
Still leaving children orphaned, people shattered, and in melancholic lows
A new virus keeps evolving endlessly stalking humankind
We just learn to live, get stronger, fight back and never succumb
The economy keeps crashing, while billionaires grow their kingdoms
Only dust, smoke, and ashes are left behind
No glimmer of health, wealth, just sighs and groans we find
In all this sorrow and pain, what could humans gain?
Depending on unknown fate, are we limping lame?
Our answers come from the strength of our minds
It comes in the faith of the Almighty Divine
Relaxing, and not stressing, resting in the Sublime
The mind can make a prison out of a palace and a palace a prison
It is all about your thinking, strength, and internal vision
Rest, relax, and pray through the good times and hard times
Refresh each silver dawn with the Song of Universal rhymes
Awaken dead creaking bones to walk with new life
See the wonders of each day, end vitriolic strife
Start early, go on, and keep walking on in victory
Even if you see nothing, feel the golden flavor in small steps even shivery
Then, a new shift takes over in this unshakable faith
Reenergized wonders dawn and miracles form after a little wait
That allows the sunrise of the New Year to smile on us with blessings from above
