In a gesture that is touching hearts, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya will donate her kidney to him
Though the doctors in India denied permission for a kidney transplant, their Singapore counterparts gave their go-ahead. Ailing Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) former chief Lalu Prasad Yadav‘s Singapore-based daughter Rohini Acharya will donate a kidney to her father, a close family member said.
Yadav, 74, returned last month from Singapore where he had gone for treatment for his kidney problems.
The RJD president, who has been suffering from multiple health problems, was advised a kidney transplant.
He has been jailed for his involvement in fodder cases and has been hospitalized several times in Delhi and Ranchi for treatment.
His daughter Rohini Acharya a Twitter enthusiast has been critical of the Narendra Modi government and resides in Singapore along with her husband and children.
Recently, Lalu Prasad visited Singapore where the doctors gave him strings of tests. Along with him, Rohini also underwent the test as a donor and the doctors gave their approval for the transplant.
According to sources, the RJD chief was not willing to undergo the transplant but Rohini, along with other family members, convinced him to undergo a transplant and accept his daughter as a donor.
Reportedly, Lalu Yadav’s kidneys have suffered 75 percent damage and he is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Delhi. Though the doctors here denied the permission for a kidney transplant, their Singapore counterparts gave their go-ahead. The transplant is expected to take place on November 24.
Citizens laud the daughter and say that it must be a blessing for Lalu Yadav to have children like Rohini, a loving daughter. Rohini is a mother of two sons. Her brother is Tejashwi Yadav, the charismatic leader of the RJD.
