EuropeZelenskyy: "They're trying to destroy us, wipe us off the face of the Earth"

Loud explosions rock Ukraine’s capital Kyiv killing several people and while Zelenskyy appeals to Western nations, Russia will not stop.

“They are trying to destroy us and wipe us off the face of the earth. Completely. Destroy our people who are sleeping at home in Zaporizhzhia. Kill people on their way to work in Dnipro and Kyiv,” Zelenskyy said in a video address Monday.

Russian Security Council deputy head Dmitry Medvedev warned that the attacks will continue until Russia has achieved the “complete dismantling” of Ukraine’s “political regime.”

On early Monday morning, three Russian missiles fired from ships in the Black Sea targeting locations in Ukraine crossed through Moldova’s airspace, the country’s foreign minister said, calling it a “violation.”

There were at least two blasts were heard in central Kyiv with explosions being reported in many other places across the country, according to the BBC. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says several people have been killed and injured following the strikes. The explosions come a day after Moscow blamed Ukraine for a deadly blast on the bridge linking Crimea and Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will appeal to Western nations at an emergency G7 meeting on Tuesday.  Ukraine and Germany called the meeting following a wave of devastating missile attacks on Kyiv, Liviv, and more than a dozen other major cities. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the attacks are revenge for the bombing of the Kerch Bridge connecting Russia and Crimea this weekend.

UN chief slams Russia strikes on Ukraine as ‘unacceptable escalation.  EU leaders said the strikes, which Putin said were retaliation for an attack on a bridge link to Crimea, amounted to “war crimes”  However, Putin is completely unruffled and threatened more strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure after Russian missiles hit cities across Ukraine
