A ‘ghostly’ figure clad in white walking on a rooftop in a residential colony in Varanasi is giving people sleepless nights.
The video showing the “ghost” has gone viral on social media revealing a ‘spooky’ figure walking on the rooftop and the police are currently investigating the matter. Big debates are going on about ghosts.

After the pictures and videos of this ghastly unidentified figure went viral, people residing around the park in the Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) Colony, under the Bhelupur Police Station are having sleepless nights. They have informed the police and the initial investigation suggests that it could be an act of mischief. The police have informed residents that strict action will be taken against the people behind this. The video has been sent for further examination.
People in and around the colony have started avoiding leaving their houses after sunset. Even people living close to VDA Colony feel apprehensive about going to the area after dark.
The video was first posted on the colony’s WhatsApp group by some boys who are residents there. When asked for an explanation, they were unable to come up with a satisfactory answer. A complaint has been registered at Bhelupur police station.
DCP Kashi RS Gautam of Varanasi Police Commissionerate told Aaj Tak that this incident is a complete act of mischief. It has also been discovered that someone from the Bajardiha locality has recorded it. Some boys have been identified in this regard and action is also being taken against them.
However, people comment that how can boys be arrested for recording a video of what they saw? Until now, no one has nailed the “ghost” or discovered the source behind that figure walking on the rooftop at night. People ask in horror, “Are ghosts real?” While skeptics feel a prank is being played, Varanasi is known to be the most haunted place in India, and a myriad of stories of ghosts lurking around.
