Boycott IPL is trending on Twitter with India on verge of the Asia Cup exit many blaming the Indian Premier League for poor performance.

Many of the tweets in India under the hashtag are bitterly blaming the Indian Premier League as responsible for the Indian national team’s disappointing Asia Cup run.  After India’s six-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka on Tuesday, the hashtag – #BoycottIPL started trending on Twitter bemoaning the two Super 4 losses India suffered at the hands of its neighbours.

Without giving space for losses and wins, harsh critics called the cricket-rich a liability, responsible for the bad form of players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, and are calling for the tournament to be axed.

Some cruel comments were “Afghans standing up to Pakistanis while #IndianCricketTeam obsessively performing Aman ki Asha with Pakistanis.  That’s why the match results are also different. This Indian team is short on talent & high on wokism. They have no hope in hell! #BoycottIPL” (sic)

All these players don’t deserve to wear Indian Jersey and represent India at any level. All selfish money-minded players without the sense of Nationality and fighting spirit Arrogant dumb secretary saying that we are planning to go with 2 teams doesn’t know C of 🏏💔” (sic).

Fatigue is a very real component looking at the Indian team’s stuffed schedule, with the Rohit-led team playing multiple tours before ending up at the Asia Cup. In the group stages of the Asia Cup, India was pitted against arch-rivals Pakistan and Hong Kong and managed to beat both teams to seal a spot in the Super 4. But, once they were in the knockout stage, the Indian cricketers seemed to tumble down, first losing to Pakistan and then to Sri Lanka, all but securing an exit from the competition.

Against Sri Lanka, captain Rohit Sharma’s 72 off 41 went in vain as the Lankans produced a perfect performance to bring down the boys in blue. India failed to defend a total of 173, with Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendi (57 off 37) and Pathum Nissanka (5

2 off 37) putting the game beyond doubt. India has one more match remaining in the tournament, against Afghanistan, set to take place on Thursday, whose outcome is unlikely to affect the team’s standing and will only confirm their exit from the tournament

“This is where we lost the tournament. There is passion in this team. They are here for friendly matches and we Indian are excited to see the battle. Like Bollywood, we should boycott the Indian cricket team.”

Unfortunately, the critics forgot how many matches India also won

In the 2007 World Cup semi-finals, India defeated the Australian team in South Africa, a fantastic performance with nerves of steel, but one must not forget that before 2007 t20 World Cup there was a 2007 Indian World Cup failure, so writing off the cricket team now is far to fast and judgemental.

Praise is pouring out for the former captains’ MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in all this!

#BoycottIPL Exactly…. @imVkohli is King Always Masterd Every Innings…He don’t have single IPL Trophy, but He’s G.O.A.T Of Cricket.I am a big fan of his Cricket And Captaincy 👑 No one replaces Virat18.”
