In the Monsoon Session of parliament, Congress is to raise Agnipath, price rise, hate speech, misuse of agencies, unemployment, etc.

Congress on Thursday said that during the Monsoon Session, they will raise issues like the LPG price hike, the Agnipath scheme, and India- the China border situation will also be raised. He also said they will raise the issue of unemployment, devaluation of the rupee, and privatization of public sector banks in both Houses.  They also said Congress will raise the problem of communal tension across the country.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge of Congress and Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury held a joint press conference after a meeting of the Parliamentary Strategy Group of the Congress chaired by party President Sonia Gandhi. “We will raise all issues of national importance in the upcoming session. Issues of price rise, including the rise in the price of cooking gas, unemployment, economic situation and the attack on federal structure will be among the issues we will raise,” Kharge said.

He also said the new Agnipath scheme for recruitment in the armed forces, and privatization of public sector banks will be among the important issues that will be the focus.

The India- China border situation will also be raised. He also said “like-minded” Opposition parties will hold a meeting on Sunday after a meeting called by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi. Chowdhury, meanwhile said the Opposition had not been yet informed of what was likely to be the business to be taken up in the upcoming session. He also said the situation of communal tension across the country will be raised by Congress. The Monsoon Session of Parliament starts on July 18 and ends on August 12.
