Newborn baby in J&K declared dead, found alive before burial!

IndiaNewborn baby in J&K declared dead, found alive before burial!

A newborn baby declared dead at Sub District Hospital Banihal in J&K on Monday was found to be alive while being taken for burial.

A newborn baby was stillborn and declared dead at Sub District Hospital Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Monday.  Family members alleged that Bankoot resident Basharat Ahmed’s wife gave birth at the hospital. As the hospital staff told the family that the baby was stillborn, the family later took the baby for burial.

A family member on the way to the burial grounds suddenly noticed the infant moving and alerted others. Instantly, the baby was rushed to the hospital again, from where it was referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment.

Furious over the carelessness of the hospital, the baby’s family members staged a demonstration outside the hospital.

Taking note of the incident, authorities suspended two hospital employees following the protest by the infant’s family.

“Pending inquiry into the alleged death of a newborn baby, Sumina Begum, Junior Staff Nurse, and Hajara Begum, sweeper working in the gynecology section of SDH Banihal are placed under suspension with immediate effect,” read the BMO’s order.  However, the question arises why would the sweeper be involved with the baby’s declaration of death, where were the doctors and other nurses?

In the bottom line, miracles happen and the hand of God saved the baby from being buried alive, as had not the relative seen some movement, the baby would have been buried alive, a disaster averted in time!
