Huge protests are going on at Lal Chowk, Srinagar from the Kashmir Pandits. Ashok Swain tweeted that the Kashmir Pandits are protesting in Lal Chowk, Srinagar against Prime Minister Modi! In the name of Kashmir Pandits, Narendra Modi had taken away Article 370, had kept Kashmir Muslims in an open jail for 2 years, made a propaganda film to divide the country and they are calling for justice.

Seeking relocation outside the Valley, people belonging to the migrant Kashmiri Pandit community staged a protest in Srinagar on Saturday.
They called out, “Our only demand is relocation and nothing else. We will serve here only when the security situation improves in Kashmir.”
One protestor said, “For the last 10 days, we are on protest and our only demand is relocation from Kashmir.” They are feeling unsafe in Kashmir due to the recent killing and while Kashmir Hindus and Kashmir Muslims live in harmony, the killings were unnerving from unknown sources.
Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, and divisional commissioner Pandurang K Pole had met the protesters last Sunday at Sheikhpora transit accommodation in South Kashmir.
IGP Kumar had said there will be no compromise on their security-related issues.
“The agenda of militants is to create fear among you. We will have to fight them jointly. If you get scared, then their agenda will get fulfilled. I assure you on behalf of the police and the army that the shortcomings in the security will be addressed,” he had told the protesters.
Result of Removing Artice 370 and Kashmir Files Movie Only Worsened Kashmir
Two years out from the abrogation of 370 and 35a and there is a great depression in Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmiris feel they are not given freedom of expression. Police can just pick up anyone under UAPA, even if they are simply protesting absolutely removing personal liberties from Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir’s economy suffered losses of ₹15,000 crores since August the trade body says. People are in heavy depth and cannot pay off loans because no new money is generated. International tourism, a great source of income is dead.
Kashmir went through its third lockdown since August 2019, over three years of lockdown has reduced the princely state to a begging bowl literally.
There is no sector of Kashmir’s economy — be it tourism, horticulture, transport, or trade — that hasn’t suffered losses in the past two years. “Economy was already on its deathbed,” said Sheikh Ashiq, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). “Somehow we were trying to survive, then came the pandemic.”
Suicides and depression amid drug addiction have increased in the Valley. The movie Kashmir File increased tensions in the Valley and the Kashmiri Pandits are not happy about it, feeling this was only made as a political weapon to use them, while on the ground they are suffering from the troubles Kashmir has faced for years and they are crying, “We want justice!”
What are Article 370 and Article 35a?
Article 370 of the Indian constitution gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, a region located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent which was administered by India as a state from 1954 to 31 October 2019, conferring it with the power to have a separate constitution, a state flag, and autonomy over the internal administration of the state.
Article 35A of the Indian Constitution was an article that empowered the Jammu and Kashmir state’s legislature to define “permanent residents” of the state and provide special rights and privileges to them. It was added to the Constitution through a Presidential Order, i.e., The Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 1954 – issued by the President of India under Article 370.
