Protests erupted in Shaheen Bagh on Monday with hundreds of people, including women, and Congress opposing the SDMC’s bulldozer drive.
It appears that the “Bulldozer’ has been made a symbol of threat and dread by the BJP in their recent drives to terrify the minorities. This is especially evident when the right-wing media cheers hysterically as shops, settlements, and houses are being demolished and Congress leaders stepped in strongly to block the bulldozers rolled into the area in presence of heavy police personnel. Hundreds of locals in Shaheen Bagh joined in protests to stop the bulldozing. Protesters raised slogans against the BJP-ruled South Delhi Municipal.
Protesters raised slogans against the BJP-ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) as well as the central government and insisted that the demolition drive should be stopped. Congresswomen and men protestors and other protestors also stood in front of bulldozers to prevent the exercise.

Many Congress leaders were detained, following which the state Congress president Anil Kumar reached Kalkaji police station. The Supreme Court refused to intervene this time, however, the last time, Justices L N Rao and B R Gavai did order a halt of all demolition activities.

Congress leaders stand in solidarity with the Shaheen Bagh though the India Media never shows the visuals. While the BJP and right-wing accuse Congress of appeasing the “minorities” and “not the Hindus”, they have to understand the Universal ideology of Congress all over the globe is never to appease but to stand for the equality, liberty, and dignity of every individual.
The women of Shaheen Bagh one year back during their lengthy peaceful protests against the CAA act which could make them illegal citizens of India and suffer persecution were also known as the guardians of democracy.

A Congress supporter, Rahul Mukherjee tweets, “Congress was there, shoulder to shoulder with Shaheenbagh, out in full force. Media won’t talk about it, but the party was there, resisting the Shaheel Bagh Bullodozer drive.”
It was noticed that the Media never covers visuals on any actions of the Congress party, perhaps been given directions not to do so.

The Demolition Drive Appeared to Be Communal
When there are thousands of illegal structures over Delhi, and to target, just the Muslim community continuously seems to be a communal drive. Once again, a Hindu fanatic, BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul, made an outrageous statement when he said ‘Muslims should be set ablaze just as Hindus burn Ravana effigies on Dussehra’:

The world is alarmed and genocide expert Gregory Stanton says, “”What we have here is… genocide denial… It is very similar to me what our leaders in the 1930s when Hitler was rising. We have here a man [Modi] who could easily bring about genocide in India and we are ignoring it.” Listen to the video. Is everyone ignoring something that is going to erupt?
When leaders from the BJP are talking about burning up Muslims, this is not the fringe anymore, the fringe has become mainline and is ruling us, and the Courts are silent. This man and others like him should be imprisoned for death threats, but it is not happening.
The ideology of democracy and liberty in Congress in Western countries enables Asians and Indian NRIs to live safely abroad. While the right-wing still doesn’t get it, and many are NRIs in Western countries and the Gulf, including Muslim majority Malaysia, they still have not understood it is not appeasement but protecting all communities equally. The law is equal for all, but in a nation, if a minority community is targeted, the ideology of Congress calls for the protection of those minorities, which is upsetting the Hindutva cadre.
