Rahul Gandhi: 10.86 lakh crores loans of Modi’s rich friends waived

EconomyRahul Gandhi: 10.86 lakh crores loans of Modi's rich friends waived

Rahul Gandhi claims PM Narendra Modi waived off 10.86 lakh crore loans of his rich friends with the money collected from fuel tax.

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has always accused the Modi government of favoring the opulent class and on Thursday slammed the BJP government at the Center as “friends of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”. He shared that the Center has waived off the loan from fuel tax collection tweeting that direct ‘benefit’ was transferred to Prime Minister Modi’s friends.

Of note, he tweeted, Direct ‘Benefit’ Transfer to Modi-Mitr.  JanDhanLootYojana, and reveals that 26.51 lakh crores were collected from the public in the form of fuel tax, and 10.86 lakh crores of loans of rich friends were waived with the money deposited from fuel tax.

Rahul Gandhi hashtagged Jan Dhan loot scheme and also shared a picture in which it is written that 26.51 lakh crore was collected from the people as fuel tax and Rs 10.86 lakh crore loan taken by the rich was waived. At the bottom of the picture, it is written that this tax was taken between 2014 and 2022.

This data has been taken from the central government and information from the RBI under loans where it revealed that 51 lakh crores were recovered and a massive amount to the tune of Rs 10.86 lakh crores loans taken by the rich was waived off.

Rahul Gandhi has always pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “extracts wealth from poor, gives it to ‘crony capitalist friends, and earlier in January 2020 also said “Modi extracts wealth from India’s poor and gives it to his crony capitalist friends & the big power brokers he’s dependent on. 1% of India’s super-rich, now own 4 times more wealth than 1 billion of India’s poor,”.

Of note, the NGO Oxfam reports that the world’s 2,153 billionaires have more wealth than the 4.6 billion people who make up 60 percent of the planet’s population.  The new system of hard capitalism under PM Modi is dividing the rich and the poor. Individuals have framed PM Modi’s move as an anti-Robinhood reverse method where one takes from the poor to give to the rich where the rich indulgently splash their wealth creating a great divide and bitterness between the haves and have nots.
