Life is mysterious and we never know what lies around the corner, so worry is a waste of time and energy, our best days may be ahead.
Some years back, in Khushinagar, Uttar Pradesh in India, a school bus crashed into a train. Parents with faith and peace in their hearts sent their kids to school and early at 7 a.m. the fateful event happened. Some parents’ sorrow was compounded by losing two to even three children by this devastating tragedy. The school bus driver was merrily listening to songs, unaware of the unmanned railway crossing and while pedestrians were wildly signaling to him to stop, he was blissfully unaware of anything, drowned in the sound of his music. Well, he lived, but over 13 children died, and more battled for their lives! Lives would never be the same and parents grieve till they die, that pain never heals, not really.
Such tragedies could happen, and anything could happen in a given day. How is it possible to live when everything in life is so uncertain? Many of us suffer from anxiety, paranoia, and panic attacks too, all deeply rooted in fears out of control. COVID-19 wrecked millions of lives.
We can do two things in life: Worry and fear each day or let go and trust the Almighty Creator, or believe in positive thinking and release all fears.
Well, I used to be an intense worrier years ago, terrified of something that could happen and lived in fear of it for years. It crippled me to nothing. One day, I noticed a tree, gnarled, cracked, old, and shrunken, when suddenly it started to rain heavily, the branches bent over, some snapped and fell down on the ground and I could almost hear the tree groaning with pain! I suddenly realized worry has that propensity, the arrows of projectional thoughts keep on hitting an unprotected soul like heavy rain, and eventually, the poor soul cracks up and falls apart.
My only deliverance was faith, prayers, and peace in God. God Almighty cocooned and filled me with supernatural peace and joy. Only the power of prayer can protect us, and stop the toxicity of worry eating our brains.
Hold on to promises from the Holy Books such as “None of the things you fear will come upon you.” and God is your protector. And stop thinking negative thoughts. Get the freedom to believe, freedom to hope, freedom to love, freedom to share, freedom to give, freedom from the fear of loss, harm, and destruction.
Learn to trust and rest in God and let the power of prayer bring you joy and victory.
Let us not waste our precious time worrying. God knows our needs and will care for us. “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Leo Buscaglia, motivational speaker, and American author wrote, “Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”
