A high alert is declared in Mumbai over a suspected Khalastani terror attack in Mumbai, the commercial capital of the country say officials on Friday.

Due to the possibility of Khalistani terrorists carrying out an attack in Mumbai, security has been beefed up at all prominent places across the city, including railway stations, officials said here on Friday.

The police sources said here on Friday that The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has given inputs about a possible attack on the city on the eve of the New Year putting the Mumbai Police on high alert which has also deployed additional police forces at all prominent places across the city.

The authorities have canceled pre-approved leave and also a weekly office for police personnel for December 31 over security concerns in the city.
