In Delhi, 21-year-old Rabia barbarically murdered, throat slit, mutilated

Rabiya Saifi, a 21-year-old girl who lived in Delhi was barbarically murdered on 26 August 2021, which suddenly came to light openly.

She hailed from Sangam, Bihar who used to work in Civil Defense in Delhi and was posted at the SDM office of South East Delhi and was a resident of Delhi’s Sangam Vihar.

Details of the Crime:

Rabiya Saifi, who was a fresher to the defence forces and had joined barely four months ago civil defence staffer, according to reports, was missing on August 27.  After not arriving home, her family members frantically looked for her at many places and even sought help from the collector but reportedly did not get any help.

The family later found her body with 50 knife stabs, her private parts mutilated, breasts chopped off and throat slit.

The accused in the crime alleged to be her husband, Nizamuddin, who kidnapped her while returning from work in Lajpat Nagar. According to other reports, the accused man was her boyfriend.

According to the report by AajTak, the accused man identified as Nizamuddin surrendered himself at Kalinda Kunj. He said to the police that they both had secretly married without her family’s approval.

On the day he killed her, he said that he questioned her about her involvement with another man.  They had an argument after which he allegedly stabbed her in the heat of the moment.  Nizamuddin reportedly surrendered in Kalindi Kunj police station after killing Rabiya. The station House Office of Surajkund, Haryana has reportedly assured of a fair investigation which will be conducted in the case.

Outrage on Social Media Asking for Her Justice

News of alleged gang rape and murder trended heavily on social media and was being circulated with the hashtag #JusticeForRabiya and Netizens were demanding justice for a 21-year-old murdered in Faridabad. Since September 4, #JusticeForRabiya has been trending on the platform with over 70k tweets. Twitterati are questioning Delhi Police, national media agencies, and social welfare groups on their silence regarding the issue.

Third term Member of Parliament Abhishek Singhvi tweeted his response to the rape and murder case and wrote, “A civil defence staffer is brutally raped and murdered in country’s capital and there is an utter pin drop silence by BJP controlled Delhi police! Hope both the governments won’t bury their heads in the sand like an ostrich and ensure #JusticeForRabiya

Gaurav Pandhi National Coordinator, Digital Communication for All India Congress Committee tweeted, “Watch this heartbreaking video of brother of Rabia Saifi, a civil defence officer in Delhi, who was raped, murdered, her throat slit, breasts chopped off.

There is a chilling silence by Media & AAP-BJP Govt & Delhi CM wants this model in Punjab. THIS IS IN CAPITAL OF INDIA!

Asaduddin Owaisi,  President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen said, “Prayers with Rabiya’s family. Criminals must get strictest punishment. Her family also deserves to know how/why she was killed. MIM Delhi Pres
@KaleemulHafeez
has been with her family since day 1. Rabiya worked for Delhi govt, she deserves better than tokenism #JusticeForRabiya

All India Mahila Congress  tweeted, “Mahila Congress Acting President, Ms
Netta met the family of Rabiya, who was raped and brutally stabbed to death in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar.

Heinous crimes against women have been normalised under the BJP regime.

We will ensure that justice is prevailed.

#JusticeForRabiya

Socio-political activists from across the country have been tweeting about the horrific murder asking the authorities to investigate further into the matter and find the real culprit behind the murder.  Somehow, people are convinced there is more behind this barbaric tragedy.

Women Need More Awareness To Know Where to Run for Help Before This Happens

The crux of the heinous crime is that there is extensive violence to women, and women in India have not yet found safe zones to hide, and protect themselves before these horrors happen and then it’s far too late. While there are multiple NGOs and the Women’s Rights Movement, 90% of the women in India are not aware of how to contact these organizations and don’t know where to go. The man who killed her so brutally was most probably already violent and abusive with her and had Rabiya run for help in time, her life would have been spared.
