Two CRPF jawans and a policeman were injured in a grenade attack in Baramulla town in Kashmir on Thursday, says police.
The attack occured when terrorists hurled a grenade towards a joint team of CRPF and J&K Police in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir and sources say that the terrorists hurled a grenade at a CRPF and police party in the Khanpora locality of Baramulla town.
“The grenade exploded injuring 2 CRPF troopers and policeman. All the injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment,” police said.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and lauched search operation to nab the terrorists.
There have been a series of attacks in the Baramulla vincinity in the recent past.
Baramulla, known as Varmul in Kashmiri, is a city and a municipality in the Baramulla district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is on the bank of the Jhelum River downstream from Srinagar, the state capital. The city was earlier known as Vārāhamūla
