EconomyThe Center has again increased LPG prices by ₹350 in just 7 months

Over the months, the price of LPG is creeping up and with the new hike up of Rs. 25 on July 1, gas prices have shot up by Rs. 350 in 7 months!

On a survey over the months, this is the worrisome upscale of LGP (liquefied petroleum gas) in India leading to a perturbed public over the high cost of living, low income, joblessness in the midst of the raging pandemic:

Nov 30: ₹594
Dec 1: ₹644
Jan 1: ₹694
Feb 4: ₹719
Feb 15: ₹769
Mar 1: ₹819
July 1: ₹834

The price of nonsubsidized LPG is ₹ 834.50 per cylinder (14.2 kilograms) in Delhi and Mumbai with effect from July 1 and with this hike by Rs 25.50, in Delhi and Mumbai, the price of nonsubsidized LPG is ₹ 834.50 per cylinder  (14.2 kilograms) each in Delhi and Mumbai.

The price of an LPG cylinder is the highest in Chennai, at ₹ 850.50.  Indian Oil, the country’s largest fuel retailer, supplies LPG cylinders under the brand Indane.

Here are the current prices of Indane non-subsidised LPG in the four metros:
City Price In Rupees Per 14.2 Kg Cylinder
With Effect From July 1 June 1 May 1
Delhi 834.50 809 809
Kolkata 835.50 835 835
Mumbai 834.50 809 809
Chennai 850.50 825 825

The cost of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has been increased by ₹ 76.

The hike in the LPG comes at a time when petrol and diesel rates are at record highs across the country and petrol costs the highest in the world. Petrol prices have already crossed the ₹ 100 mark in Mumbai and are inching towards the 3-figure mark in the other metro cities

Food, cooking oil and LPG prices are soaring way beyond people’s budgets especially during the pandemic when millions lost jobs and families lost loved ones, the sole breadwinners in their homes.

One can only conclude that the government’s treasury is empty, after the terrible surgical strike of demonetization which crippled the Indian economy, causing a deep divide between the rich and poor and while the government is still raising the highest taxes on the public, they are still drained out and empty with nothing more to give to the people during the pandemic. These are some of the hardest times India is facing with no ease on the economy due to bad planning and big disastrous decision, as per the opinion of the suffering public.
