Mumbai Congress President Bhai Jagtap tweeted, “Today I launched the #RealIYCtoolkit in Mumbai an initiative undertaken by Youth leader Shri.”@SurajThakurINC
ji, along with Senior leaders of Congress. The job Mumbai Youth congress and Suraj has been doing is commendable, I hope they continue with same vigor and passion.

Suraj Thakur says, “Thank you @MrityunjayNews and @ABPNews for covering social cause by @IYC_Mumbai during pandemic.

It all started in Delhi too under the leadership of Srinivas BV, the current National President of the Indian Youth Congress.  The Indian Youth Congress has remarkably concentrated all efforts on COVID relief activities during the pandemic.  Around 100 activists of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) have been working round the clock in the national capital of Delhi monitoring the availability of beds in hospitals while a smaller group manages a COVID control room that takes calls from people looking for help.

Recently, famous television journalist Naveen Kumar of Article 19 nearly lost his life to COVID and battled the virus for 42 days, and in an emotional video choking, he poured out his praises for the doctors who saved his life and many others and was especially touched by Srinivas BV who after midnight, on receiving a call in Faridabad immediately arranged for oxygen for Naveen who needed it urgently. Naveen said if he had not got the oxygen on time, he would not be alive today.

The Indian Youth Congress’s central office on New Delhi’s Raisina Road has, for the past 14 months, been the heart of intense wide-ranging relief activities amid the pandemic. From mask and sanitizer distribution in the early days of COVID-19 in 2020, the activists are now involved in the daily struggle for getting hospital beds, medicines, oxygen cylinders, and plasma since the second wave of the pandemic surged over India hitting at the nation’s health infrastructure.

IYC leader Srinivas B V has been the face of COVID emergence aid in Delhi during this second wave, with even BJP leaders among others reaching out to him for help. His greatness was exemplary.

However, in a sudden vicious attack against him by the BJP, they filed a fake case against Srinivas and others for alleged black marketing in providing COVID aid. After investigations, the Delhi Police recently concluded that they had been providing help “voluntarily and without discrimination”. The good work of Srinivas could not be refuted by anyone and was genuine and true.

“We have a dedicated team of workers who track the availability of beds and when someone calls us for admission to hospitals, we try to send them to hospitals where beds are available. While the bigger hospitals are entirely occupied, we often locate beds in smaller hospitals,” said Srinivas BV, the president of the IYC, who was among the nine politicians questioned by the Delhi police for allegedly hoarding oxygen cylinders and medicines.

Unfortunately, the BJP maligned the good works of the Congress workers and released what it called a “toolkit” by Congress to defame Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Center over the handling of the Covid pandemic, it soon became evident that it was forged in a Congress letterhead of the ‘AICC Research Department’.  A number of BJP leaders, including ministers, through the day, attacked the Congress attaching the hashtag ‘CongressToolKitExposed’.

Congress immediately asserted it was fake.  The manipulated document by the BJP laid out instructions on how to “destroy his (Modi’s) image and erode his popularity” and advised that the new coronavirus mutant be dubbed the “India strain” or “Modi strain” — as “forgery” and “fraud”. The Congress party also filed a complaint with the Delhi Police demanding an FIR against all the four BJP leaders. It said it would also write to social media platforms for action against the BJP leaders for “propagating” a” forged and fabricated letter”.

The complaint on behalf of Congress was filed by AICC research department head Rajeev Gowda and social media department head Rohan Gupta. It accused BJP leaders of “forging the letterhead of AICC Research Department and thereafter printing false and fabricated content on the same… with the intent to create communal disharmony and civil unrest in the country… escalating violence, fuelling hate and spreading fake news”. It also said the BJP was trying to divert attention from the failures of the government.

So the real true “toolkit” of Congress is helping others, and that is the real deal!
