Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh AYUSH commissioner Ramulu made it clear that no harmful ingredients were found in the Ayurveda medicine, Covid medicine formulated by B Anandaiah to cure Coronavirus.

Talking to the media here on Monday, Mr. Ramulu said that B Anandaiah had been distributing medicine at Krishnapatnam village in Nellore district for 30-35 years. “For Covid patients,‌ five types of medicines are being given including eye drops. He has been using 18 raw materials including turmeric, cumin, nutmeg, camphor, pepper, and honey in the preparation of the five types of medicine”, he said and adding that no other ingredient has been added in it.

The Ayush Commissioner said Anandaiah has been using all the natural products shown the preparation of medicine to them and also given formula, and added that they have sent the medicine samples to the lab for investigation.

Mr. Ramulu said some of the reports were out and some were awaited and added that these samples were sent to Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic studies and they had given the medicine to 500 people and analyzed the results.

Mr. Ramulu said that clinical trials must be conducted to prove the efficacy of the medicine. “Until the scientific authenticity is proved, the Covid medicine can not be called Ayurveda medicine”, he clarified.

“We have submitted our study report on the Covid medicine formulated by Anandaiah to the Chief Minister today. A comprehensive study report on the same will be submitted by four or five days”, he informed. The samples of the Covid medicine were sent to the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda Studies (CCRAS) for analysis, he said.
