Delhi HC asks response to Centre and Delhi Government in a PIL to vaccinate students of all class 10 and 12 who would appear for board exams. The plea contended that the new strain of COVID-19 influencing the students.

New Delhi: Delhi High Court on Friday sought the response of the Centre and Delhi Government in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking vaccination to all class 10 and 12 students who would be appearing for board exams in the 2020-21 session.

The bench headed by Chief Justice D N Patel and comprising Justice Jasmeet Singh was hearing the PIL filed by Advocates Jyoti Aggarwal, Sanjivani Aggarwal, and Pradeep Shekhawat.

The plea contended that as per news reports the new strain of COVID-19 was affecting youngsters the most.

Advocates Jyoti Aggarwal, Sanjivani Aggarwal and Pradeep Shekhawat mentioned who’ve filed the plea that as per information studies the new pressure of corona infection influencing the students.

So the who appearing for the board exams need to be vaccinated. the PIL to vaccinate students on an urgent basis contended if the examinations cannot be held online, it is urged.

The bench issued notice to the Ministries of Health and Education and the Delhi Government seeking their stand on the PIL.

The court also asked whether the COVID-19 vaccines using now can be administered to those below the age of 18 years.

Counsel for Delhi Government and Central Government submitted that class 10 Board exams have been canceled while those of class 12 have been postponed.
