The haunting wails of relatives filled the air in Karnataka in a hospital in the Chamarajanagar district when 24 die in Karnataka hospital due to lack of supply of oxygen and medical supplies. While the chief minister of Karnataka B. S. Yediyurappa claimed there was sufficient oxygen in the state, the opposite was true, leading to a miscalculation of oxygen supply.

Due to the misleading statements of the chief minister B. S. Yediyurappa, Karnataka Congress president DK Shivkumar criticized the state government over the tragic event in the Chamarajanagar district hospital and said that criminal negligence has led to these 24 deaths in the state.

DK Shivkumar also slammed Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa and Health Minister K. Sudhakar for sending out false messages b assuring people that the state has enough amount of oxygen.

“Criminal negligence has led to these 24 die in Karnataka hospital. Why do Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Health Minister K Sudhakar keep lying every day saying there is enough oxygen? Is there no accountability? How many more will be ‘killed’ because the government cannot supply Oxygen?” Shivkumar tweeted.

District Incharge Minister Suresh Kumar has ordered the probe into the matter and said that strict action will be initiated against those who are responsible for the shortage of oxygen supply to the hospital.
