Patna, people were going on a pickup van, when the vehicle fell from the Pontoon bridge into the Ganges river. At least nine people have drowned in the river Ganga and some others were missing.

Patna: In Bihar, at least nine people have drowned in the river Ganga and some others were missing when a pickup van overturned into the river from a pontoon bridge under the Akilpur police station area on Friday morning.

Police said here that the pickup van, carrying the people lost its balance and fell into the river.

The police said that nine bodies have been fished out so far whereas some others were missing.

Senior administrative offices were camping at the spot. Diverse has been pressed into service to find out the missing persons.
