On Thursday, in a chilling incident, three unidentified men garbed in full PPE kits rob J&K Bank; flee with Rs 6 lakhs in the Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district absconding with a 12-bore rifle of the guard.

When locals who were present at the spot attempted to catch the robbers, a gunman fired some shots in the air to create panic before fleeing away from the spot.  According to police sources, they boarding a car forcing their entry into the bank, and later “they ditched their vehicle,” when fleeing.

As per initial reports of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Baramulla, Rayees Mohammad Bhat told International Business Times that the three masked gunmen, who were wearing PPE kits, barged into the Pattan branch of J&K Bank and looted the money.

The police team has already reached the spot for further investigation.  A search is on to nab the robbers in the meantime.
